Project Dequeue

Project Dequeue is a WiFi based mobile ticketing system developed by four computer science students from Government Engineering College Thrissur.
Project Dequeue aims at solving the problem of long queues at places where tickets are sold. A great amount of time is wasted by standing in these queues, a person can very well utilize that time in doing things he/she likes. Project Dequeue achieves this by virtually increasing the number of ticket counters so as to minimize the delay due to queues.

Project Dequeue has mainly 3 interconnected components:
  • The web portal
  • The local server
  • Android application
The end user can register for a new account at www.projectdequeue.cz.cc and start using the service.
The end user can purchase credits and add them to his account. These credits can be used for further transactions.

The local server is set up at the service providers locality and serves the requests received from the mobile device. The local server was built using the django web framework and the online portal was built on drupal core.

The following is a screen shot of the online portal.

The picture below shows the mobile interface for the android device:

The entire system reduces the amount of time a person spends standing in a queue. The system also proves to be a perfect alternative for the present queue system.

This is a short Introduction video for the project released for its promotion.
The project was done as a part of the semester project.
